1. Who we are

The Ruby Network website and the Minecraft server at ruby-network.net (together, the "Service") are operated by Nathan Breeden ("we", "us"). Contact: [CONTACT EMAIL]. Postal address: [POSTAL ADDRESS]. [LEGAL REVIEW: confirm the operating entity, and whether a sole proprietor must publish a name and address in your jurisdiction.]

The Service is not an official Minecraft product and is not approved by or associated with Mojang or Microsoft.

2. Accepting these terms

By creating an account, joining the server or buying from the store, you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Refund Policy, the Payment Policy and the Disclaimer. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

3. Eligibility and children

You must be at least [MINIMUM AGE] to create a website account or buy from the store. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these Terms and approve any purchase.

[LEGAL REVIEW: Minecraft has many younger players. Decide the minimum age and how it is enforced. Review COPPA (US, under 13), GDPR-K (EU/UK, 13 to 16), state privacy laws, and the rules on contracts with minors. If under-13 users are allowed, verifiable parental consent may be required.]

4. Your account

You are responsible for:

Linking a Minecraft account requires running a code in game, which shows you control that account. Accounts are personal. You may not sell, trade, share or transfer them.

5. Digital purchases and virtual ranks

The store sells digital items such as ranks, tags and in-game items ("Digital Items").

6. Acceptable use

You must not:

7. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms or server rules, if required by law, or to protect the Service or other players. Where reasonable we will tell you why and give you a way to respond.

If we terminate your access for a serious breach, Digital Items may be lost without refund, except where the law requires otherwise. If we shut the Service down or end your access without you being at fault, we will follow the Refund Policy.

You may delete your website account at any time from your account page. Some records are retained as the Privacy Policy explains.

[LEGAL REVIEW: confirm forfeiture of paid items on termination is enforceable in your jurisdiction.]

8. Service availability

The Service is provided on a best-effort basis. It can be interrupted by maintenance, outages, attacks or third-party failures, and we do not promise uninterrupted service. We will try to give notice of planned downtime. Extended interruptions are handled under the Refund Policy.

9. Content you post

You keep rights to content you post (such as your bio) and give us a non-exclusive licence to display it on the Service. We may remove content that breaks these Terms.

10. Security incidents

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the Service, but no system is perfectly secure. If a security incident affects your personal data, we will investigate it and notify you and regulators as the law requires. Nothing in these Terms removes any duty we have under data protection or breach notification laws.

11. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for gross negligence or wilful misconduct where applicable, for breaches of data protection law, or for your statutory consumer rights.

Subject to that, and to the extent the law allows:

[LEGAL REVIEW: enforceability of this clause varies by jurisdiction and with consumers. Confirm wording and cap.]

12. Indemnity

If your breach of these Terms causes us a loss, you agree to cover that reasonable loss, to the extent the law allows. [LEGAL REVIEW: consumer indemnities are unenforceable in some jurisdictions. Consider deleting.]

13. Changes

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version and, for material changes, give reasonable notice. Continuing to use the Service afterwards means you accept the update.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of [STATE/COUNTRY], without removing mandatory consumer protections of the place where you live. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve any dispute informally. [LEGAL REVIEW: choose governing law, venue, and whether to use arbitration or a class-action waiver.]
